Fork brazed - ready for final clean up and mounting brake and rack hardware

Getting my grove on...... Building up this fork was very rewarding.

Lots of photos this time - the weather these last few days has been just outstanding. I have had the shop opened up - and well - I guess it is just easier to take photos when there is good light.

After brazing on the dropouts and the fork crown.

Cleaned up, trimmed to length, pinned, and ready for final assembly.

Checking the twist one final time before brazing.

In position and ready to braze.

Waiting for the fork to cool down.

Soaking off the flux.

Checking for twist after brazing

Ready for post brazing cleanup and time to attach brake and rack mounting hardware.

I am thinking about setting up this fork to use a Paul Component "Racer" brake. I like the way it looks and it doesn't require a stem mounted brake cable hanger. I guess the cantilever posts have to be mounted at a non standard height ... I guess I better check with the folks at Paul Components about that.

Well my friend Nick just sorted me out - I think it would be best to scrap the "racer" brake idea - turns out that you still need a brake cable hanger - the "racer" isnt' a "side pull" like I initially thought. I guess I'll just mount up some standard cantilever posts on this fork.
