More Progress

A few more notable bits and pieces of progress.

Sunday 071209 - I talked with my cousin Chuck - a electrician - and we discussed the best ways to get 240V 40A service to the garage for the main service panel on the side of the house. This will allow use of a TIG welder and End Mill in the garage. It will be a small project and will ensure good power distribution to the garage for these power hungry devices. I plan to run most of the wire and do most of the connections myself - but I will enlist a local electrician to perform the connections to the service panel and inspect my work before turning it all on.

Monday 071309 - I spent some time at the workshop working on the surface table. I attached the casters to the base, and I managed to get the lifting slings underneath the surface plate - between the surface plate and the 3/8 in plywood the surface plate was resting on. Plastic shims once again saved the day. I also did some formal planning for the electrical work to be done and got a list of materials together. The garage is almost ready for me - the owner has just a few more boxes to pack up and I should be good to go.
