Second bike... a townie for my wife Danielle

I started this one a week or so ago... I am almost ready it to start welding it up.

To get adequate clearance to use full size fenders on this bike I needed to bend the seat stays and also ovalize or squeeze the chain stays. I used the jig that I made for bending fork blades to bend the seat stays - I used a smaller 8 inch radius die and it worked great.

 

To ovalize or squeeze the chain stays I used some kitchen counter top samples I found at the local scrap supply along with the router and some files. It worked well - but I definitely need to get the larger vise mounted up so I can use it - as my four inch bench vise was hard pressed to perform this job.
